Terry Thrasher
Terry Thrasher’s cancer journey was unexpected and very short. He began with kidney stones in May 2023. Following several lithotripsies and other surgeries to eliminate the stones, he was admitted to the hospital in mid-December to determine why his pain was still so intense. A cystoscope of the bladder and right kidney found an aggressive tumor in the kidney which had been hidden behind the stones. Unfortunately, the tumor had begun to spread into his spine and hip and treatment was not possible. Terry passed away in January 2024.
Terry retired at age 52 from the Federal Judiciary division of the US Court system in 2001 and spent the next 23 years happily living with nature on the South Saluda River in northern Pickens County. He enjoyed many hobbies and especially loved cooking BBQ for family and friends. His first exposure to the C3 family was when he accompanied his wife, Sandy, to Maine in 2013 when she was a warrior. He returned several times over the next few years but preferred staying home with his dogs and cooking for the cyclists down by the river.
Terry is survived by his wife, Sandy, his two sons and daughters-in-law and four grandsons. He would be honored to be a C3 Warrior this year.
